Sometimes it feels like there’s enough stress just in getting your portraits done, that when the time arrives to choose your final products it can be easy to feel overwhelmed. So from time to time I’m hoping to introduce some posts dedicated to giving you a more in-depth look at some of the products I offer and their advantages.
Think about the last time you went to an art museum to be inspired….conjure up an image in your mind of your favorite piece. Chances are–it was done on canvas! The Masters had to use brushes and oils on their canvas to create their great works. Today, we’re lucky enough to be able to give our treasured photos the perfect artistic look with Canvas Wraps!
Canvas Wraps have to be one of my favorite products–they have such huge viewing impact! They’re great for giving your photos a beautiful, unique look that friends and family are sure to notice and comment on. Like paintings done on canvas, they have a light texture to them:
Now, let’s talk about longevity. A well-framed and cared for print can certainly last for generations. But they require careful preparation and care. Too much handling can damage a print and so can the acids on our hands when we touch them. Canvas Wraps are incredibly durable and very resistant to a lot of the wear and tear that can harm traditional prints. It’s pretty difficult to tear a canvas and their wooden frame construction makes them solid, but still lightweight. One of the best things? You can clean them easily with a lightly damp cloth! And the coating used in their creation protects from UV damage and fading, ensuring that a Canvas Wrap can truly become an heirloom piece for your family.
So what’s holding you back from having your own Canvas Wrap? “Cost,” you say. And I hear you–sort of….Let me explain. When you look at a photographer’s pricing for a canvas, you may experience some initial sticker shock. And, yes, the prices are higher than a traditional print. But Canvas Wraps come ready to hang! As soon as it’s in your hands, you can hang it on the wall. No frame shopping, no choosing mat colors….just up on your wall! That alone is a huge blessing to me. In my house, we still have photos without frames and frames without photos. There’s a huge appeal in having a finished product arrive.
Now, let’s say your photographer has captured the family portrait you’ve always dreamed about. The one that you want to hang on your walls for your grandchildren to see someday–and you want it to be larger than life. You figure that a 24×36 would fit nicely over the couch and “wow” everyone that walks through your door. Or maybe you have your heart set on something that doesn’t come in a “standard” size frame, like a 30×30. Have you ever priced a large frame, or worse yet, a large non-standard frame? Even at Michaels and Hobby Lobby, they can set you back a bit. And Custom Framing is yet another step up the price ladder. But Canvas Wraps don’t need a frame!
So don’t let sticker shock scare you away from these amazing additions to your portrait collection!
