There are over 16,000 photos on my computer!! So, in order to get ready for upcoming sessions, I’m doing some “Spring Cleaning” on my hard drive.
But that has me thinking….What do YOU do with all the photos on your computer?
If you’re like most people these days, hundreds and thousands of our memories live on our computers. We have the best intentions for these photos–we just don’t always have the time to follow through with them. And I definitely include myself in that group! The photos and projects for my clients certainly take priority and I’m left with thousands of photos of my family that still need….something.
When our first son was born, I made it a mission to take 1 photo of him for ever day of his first year–a goal I proudly accomplished! And my plan was to turn those into a beautiful baby album (because I’m not much of a scrapbooking type). But guess what? They still live on my computer, instead of being beautifully displayed on a shelf or shared with family. And I haven’t even begun the editing and sorting (let alone the layout!) for my youngest son’s album.
Time is short. It’s precious. And there’s so many other things to take it up. I get it.
But I’m resolved. These photos MUST fulfill their photo destiny!! They will be sorted and organized into actual printed albums! They will hang on walls and refrigerators! Because, if no one ever sees these photos—what’s the point of having them? Don’t get me wrong. Some of them will continue to live on my computer for years. But I don’t want them to just sit on my computer where I only see them once or twice a year.
So, help inspire me, please! What do YOU do with all the photos on your computer?
