This morning I took my two boys to Meadowbrook Park, which they refer to as “Castle Park” because there’s an AMAZING playground there. Before we hit the slides, they wanted to take a quick walk down one of the trails. And I’m so glad that we did, because ALL of the prairie flowers are in bloom and it is simply breathtaking there right now!! Back in my college days (*ahem* a LONG time ago now) I was part of Red Bison, which is a prairie restoration group on campus at the University of Illinois. So it always does my heart good to see monarda, coreopsis, and coneflowers dotting the landscape with their vivid colors.
I couldn’t resist trying to take a few photos while we were there–though I was “traveling light” and had to use my iPhone 🙂 I’d love to share a few with you and I hope you can feel the warm sun and smell the fresh air wherever you are!
And, if you have some time this weekend for a session, just get in touch! I still have some space available and the weather should be perfect!!

It’s impossible for me to get a good picture of the three of us 🙂 The little one always wants to see the phone before I can get a snap in!
