What To Expect Before and After Your Session

Most sessions are held outdoors in order to take advantage of the beautiful Natural Light.  You will be able to relax and truly have the chance to just be “yourself.”  Children especially open up when they’re able to play and enjoy being outside–meaning you will get the best, most genuine smiles possible!

If you prefer an indoor session, studio lights can be brought to your location or we can make use of my studio space.

Before your session, I’d like to offer you the chance to get together for a Session Consultation.  This consultation can take place in your home, a favorite coffee shop, or we can discuss ideas online through emails.  We’ll certainly talk about when and where would be best to hold your session–but we’ll also have the opportunity to talk about what kind of images you’d be most excited to see.  We’ll take care of some paperwork (signing contracts, model releases, etc.) but you’ll also have the chance to share what kinds of products you’d be interested in having on your walls and in your home.  Together, we’ll craft a session that will create images you can cherish for a lifetime.  You’re welcome to offer suggestions on poses and locations, and I’ll offer some great, creative ideas as well.

Session Fees are due at the time of your Portrait Session, and may be paid with cash, check, or credit card.

Your images will be ready and posted to your online Gallery in 2 weeks. After our session is over, I go to work making sure that every single image shown to you is as perfect as it can be. All images in your gallery are carefully and professionally edited and retouched. Your gallery will contain at least 35 images for a 1 hour session–though I’ll be honest–I usually have a hard time stopping at just 35! This gallery will be available to you for 1 month. You’re welcome to share your link with family and friends that would enjoy seeing your photos, or might wish to place an order!

When you’re ready to order, you’ve got options. Sometimes our lives are busy and it’s hard to get schedules lined up–and if that’s the case, you are always more than welcome to place your order online through your gallery. But I also absolutely love getting together in person to help you with your order!

Is this one of those pushy-salesy things?  Absolutely not! Really and truly, I’m one of the least pushy people you’ll ever meet. I’m not interested in “selling you” on a photo or a product–I’m only interested in helping you find the best way to enjoy your portraits! We’ll meet and you’ll be able to view your proofs in printed form.  I feel it’s important to have printed proofs available to my clients because different monitors and screens can provide drastically different colors.  The printed proofs will show you EXACTLY how your images will be printed.  You’ll have a chance to discuss the variety of products offered and ask any questions you might have.  If you want advice on what size print or canvas, what color frame, or what album best meets your needs, I’ll be right there to help you.  Orders and payment will be due at the close of  your Ordering Session.  If any adjustments are requested (such as making an image black and white, or cropping to a specific size/orientation) then I will make those adjustments and re-post the images in your Gallery for your final approval.  After your approval of the images you select, your order will be placed and delivered within 2 weeks!
